No, first come first serve and weekends generally have a 15-30 minute wait.
Yes, they are cash only
Of course.
Amazing "crepe style" hotcakes! Love the crispy edges. The Lyonnaise potatoes were likewise yummy. Fast, friendly, fun!
Love it. A trip to Pittsburgh isn't complete without hotcakes from Pamela's.
Had the Tex Mex omelet with potatoes and white toast. The food was outstanding along with the service. They were always coming by to refill coffee and as busy as they were the wait for food was very reasonable. Ultimately a fantastic brunch and breakfast spot.
Absolutely delicious! Not usually a sweets person, but the croissant french toast sounded too good - and it WAS! Prompt, friendly service, fast refills, really tasty food. Don't miss this place!
Food always good my wife and i eat breakfast there often
Was out of town looking for good food and pamelas hit the spot
Simply the gold standard diner. Come for pancakes; Stay for the amazing lyonnais potatoes.
Great atmosphere, good and I got a hot chocolate with a lit candle in whipped cream for my birthday!
They have a couple gluten free options and we're willing to clean the grill for my gluten allergy.
Great food and service oh and prices
Good breakfast cooked perfect good service I'll be back!
First timer, there was a line but it moved quickly. Food was pretty good. Service was great. Will return to enjoy it the future.
Strong pancakes. Almost like crepes. A good value for the money. This is a breakfast place worth the effort to go. I drive in from Monroeville when I am in town.
I had the standard eggs, bacon and waffles breakfast - which was extremely tasty and easy on the pocket!
Food is always good when I go here.
Quick service. Great portions. Vegetarian options available. Good for price. But super oily. Strawberry hotcakes were tasty but you can literally taste the oil in some bites. Western omlette was not as fluffy as the omlettes I've had elsewhere. Everything on the plate was super oily. The bread on the side had a weird mint taste. I went in expecting a breakfast place with some healthy options, and so was disappointed on that front. However, overall the dishes tasted pretty good.
The usual diner experience. I thought the food was “ok”. Can get busy very fast. Cheap and affordable.
Love the pancakes here! The staff was great and they even gave us a birthday candle in the hot chocolate for our birthday breakfast!
Great breakfast place. Wonderful crepe like pancakes, great with strawberries.
A PGH breakfast staple. The lyonnaise potatoes are truly amazing. A must get each time.
I ordered crepes and they were burnt and falling apart and also my potatoes were burnt like I couldn't even eat
Bomb food prices good large portions
Tasty crepe style pancakes. However, it is expensive for low quality diner food and poor customer service. I have had to return my food 2 out of the 3 times I've visited after discovering metal (likely from a steel brush) in my eggs, hair (likely from the cook) in the potatoes, and blue plastic in an omelette. I was charged for the food I returned. I would skip this place.
Quick service and really great food. Must try their specialty hotcakes!
Breakfast was hearty, served quickly by a young man who wasn't too cool to exchange pleasantries with an old man. Everything was great.
My family was ignored twice when we went in with my wife and daughter. First time was about 2 months ago when it seemed no one wanted to wait on a interracial couple and there child. The second time was today with me and my wife were totally forgotten about after we were served our drinks. 20 min later I asked to pay for the drinks and was told they were on the house. Me and my wife have been married for 21 yrs and I make sure she doesn't want for much. Even she felt disrespected and will not go back.I will never allow her to exerience this feeling in this restaurant again
Food is really good and the prices are reasonable. Only complaints are that it is very crowded, and now that my wife and daughter have gone vegan there's nothing for them to eat here.
I went to Pamela’s at around 9 AM on a Saturday and I just beat the crowd. The food is always served quickly (within 5-10 min). I ordered the banana walnut crepes and they were crispy and delicious!
Great food and service but you're gonna spend some money! 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿
Very nice place. Friendly service. Good food. Crepe style pancakes are delicious. They keep your coffee cup filled, too.
I love this place and their food and so have been several times. Unfortunately, the last time the service was sub par. Server did not check on us. Had to ask for refill on coffee. Wanted an order to go. She never came back to our table.
Be warned: cash only and you may end up waiting quite some time for a table. Though you'd expect it at this kind of spot, there's no counter service. I guess locals all know this, I was caught off guard and kind of rudely told of course we're cash only when paying, the cashier gesturing to a handwritten sign on the lower part of the counter. I guess if I were Sherlock Holmes or Bruce Wayne I'd have clocked it when walking in, but really it's not something you'd see. Anyway had to hand them my ID and trek around the corner to find an atm. Other than that the hash breakfast was okay, a little heavy on the potatoes though and pre-mixed so a little tough to control protein vs carbs or to skip the carbs altogether. Server was really friendly, but even there the interaction was a little weird and testy come check time.Overall, quite okay if you keep in mind it's a greasy spoon. Potential for a surprisingly long wait given that.
Just wished would have stated that they did cash only before hand, or either had it posted inside the restaurant but the food was superior
Didnt have their specialty (crepe pancakes). We just had eggs and meat. No problems, but just average
Veggie omelette was delicious. Stuffed with vegetables. These gals do not cheap out. Lyonnaise potatoes were delishes. Really friendly staff as well.
Now I understand the rave! This restaurant is great with the service, food, and atmosphere.
Chocolate chip banana hotcakes are amazing. I get them every time. I'm also very fond of the lyonnaise potatoes. Absolutely worth visiting!
Loved the atmosphere here. Great place to grab brunch
Good diner and amazing comfort food!! Portions are big but delicious so come hungry. Got the veggie omlet!
My family and I went there for breakfast today for the first time. Great service and our waitress was so kind. The atmosphere was great! We will definitely be visiting this place again for sure. The breakfast was so good and worth the money.
First of all I ordered the short stack Supposed to be Pancakes???? Looked like they were put in a shirt Presser to Flatten it ,... Even Flap jacks is not flat as this mess. I’ve never seen Pancakes like this in my life very unhappy
Fun place to go eat on a weekend. Amazing crispy pancakes. You should definitely try them when you visit. Generally pretty crowded during weekends so you might want to get there a little early. Make sure you go inside and get your name noted on the waiting list so they'll call you when they have a table for you. Also this place accepts only cash. Overall the best pancakes I've had in Pittsburgh!
It's popular. It's inexpensive. The Pancakes are good
What a great breakfast experience! Everything was absolutely delicious. Staff are very friendly.
This place is fantastic! Make sure to get here a little early to grab a table. I had the Tex Mex omelet which was fantastic. Eggs were cooked perfectly! The potatoes were some of my favorite that I've ever had. On top of the food, the services was kind and quick. Love this place!
Great service. Great food. Every time. There is a reason this place has been around for 40 years. Hotcakes and Omelets are all delicious. Try the salads if you want to go off the beaten path. You can't miss here.
Great potatoes. Yummy combination sandwich they call the Duquesne Special.
Pamela's never fails to serve a delicious breakfast!
I had the chorizo hash, it was pretty good. Scrambled eggs were done nicely... Fluffy. I will say that the service was not as good as usual. I sat for quite a while before being acknowledged (this is a seat yourself place) and no one came to refill my coffee until I asked for it. I really enjoy Pamela's ....i wont let a one time thing influence me....yes I'll go back.
